At our dinner table each night I always ask for peaks and valleys for the day from my family. We all need to have those peak moments to counter the grind of any day; and we need to remind ourselves of those moments so they are not promptly forgotten. For this Friday Finds, I want to pass along some of my favorite videos. They are all short, but they should be mood lifting and thought provoking. Hopefully, they will become one of your peak moments of your day.
As we grow older, it is important to remain conscious and appreciative of each of our days. That is why I have always been a fan of this video. Let it encourage you to make the most of every day, even the difficult days. There is always a peak, regardless of the valley. And let it remind you to live each year as if it were your last year. Make the days count. Make your life count.
This video reminds all of us that a key to life is our perspective. With just small changes in the way we look at the world, or with just small changes in our communications with others, we can improve the quality of our life — and the quality of our connections with people. We all need to remind ourselves of the importance of our perspective.
In my blogs I have discussed the importance of moving away from accomplishment and acclaim to other areas of greater value. One of those areas is your level of happiness. More and more studies show that happiness is not directly related to income and/or to specific events. It is more related to your perspective and your own internal state. This presentation reminds us of the real pathway to happiness.
Lastly, I am a great believer in the importance of connection, both with people and with God. There are times when it is important to reflect on our lives, wondering what God would think of our behavior and wondering if God would have any advice on how to change the course of our lives.
