October 30 – Discussion of our current challenges for the baby boomers (from financial, medical, professional, personal challenges to the global, ethnic, and cultural challenges) with a focus on how the baby boomer can redesign their lives to meet these challenges.
November 6 – Discussion of Earnest Hemingway’s perspective “First, you must last” with a focus on our medical challenges, our health care system barriers, and our deteriorating food supply with a focus on how we can change our diet and exercise to reduce our risk for the major illnesses.
November 13 – Discussion of sharpening our mental focus to better insulate ourselves from cognitive decline and to better establish the tools for increased mental clarity so we can reevaluate our lives and make decisions on how to change the direction of our lives. Let’s avoid senior moments and dementia! It can be done.
November 20 – Discussion of creating a new direction for our lives with a move away from a career/external focused life to a more balanced life with renewed dreams/talents/passions with a new clarification of your life mission/purpose – with new freedom. Isn’t this the type of life that most of us want?
November 27 – Discussion of our need for self-improvement and personal growth with specific tools for better managing our daily life, our time, and our personal clock with the goal of creating more space for our new life. How many of your rush out the door? How many of your fail to create the proper compass?
December 4 – Discussion of our need for a deeper connection with each other and a re-emphasis on our relationships with family, friends, and cohorts, plus a discussion on the role of our religion and spirituality within this context of trying to share more of ourselves with others. Do you know that more people die from loneliness than from cigarettes?
December 11 – Discussion of our need to maintain our mood as we grow older, overcoming losses and progressing forward toward new relationships and a deeper appreciation of our lives and our relationships (which make life so meaningful). Hint: the answer does not lie in more pills or more doctor visits.
December 18 – Discussion of redefining our legacy and moving away from the anchors of the past to the freedom of the future – with a better chance for sharing, giving, and leaving a legacy that will live far beyond your own lifetime. And remember: your legacy is far more than finances or any will!
